It’s The Little Things 3/52

I’m really enjoying writing these posts, and spending just a little time each week thinking about the little things that have made me smile. Our happy notes jar is filling up fast with all the tiny things we’ve loved and it’s lovely seeing it visibly add up to so many memories. Here’s the little things that have made me happy this week:

  • Baking – we’ve been doing some practice baking for our Valentine’s Day recipes (which I’ll post next week) and I absolutely adore how much Dilan loves it. We’ve been doing simple things so he’s been able to really get involved, doing loads by himself, and watching him do it is just incredible. He loves eating the treats of course, but the joy he gets from giving the things he’s made to other people is amazing. His generosity always makes me smile.
  • Rainy park days – much like the zoo last week, we headed outside over the weekend while everyone else was sheltering from the rain indoors. Luckily the structure we were playing on was pretty well covered so we didn’t get too wet, and we definitely enjoyed having it all to ourselves!
  • Officially being a WAHM – I enrolled onto a business program a few weeks ago and part of the process was to submit my business plan. I had so many fears that they wouldn’t see ‘blogging’ as a viable business model but with the help of an amazing mentor (I hope you’re reading this Elaine) my plan was approved last week and I’m so pleased. It feels like the push I needed to really step up my game and make things happen, for myself and for my little family. It’s terrifying don’t get me wrong, and I’m now under an incredible amount of pressure to pull it off but I’m on the right track and I’m so excited about where it may lead!

The linky party is over on the lovely Jodie’s blog this week – Dear Little Daisy, so head over there to link up your posts. It makes us both so happy to see people joining in regularly so thank you so much if you do, and if you haven’t yet then this week is a great week to start!

Last Week’s Favourites

Alex from Better Together Home really made me smile this week with her post, written in the comfort of her favourite coffee shop. Finding things to be grateful for in stressful situations can be so tough but it really does make you feel so much better.

I loved reading Jo’s post over at Pickle and Poppet. Like Alex she had a tough week but managed to find some really special things that made her smile. I love that her husband remembered the sugar in her coffee, that’s exactly the kind of little thing that really does mean the world.

I can’t wait to read what’s made everyone happy this week, and I really love the wonderful community that is forming so thanks to everyone who joins in or reads along! Grab the badge then head over to Dear Little Daisy to read what’s made Jodie smile this week and link up.

Ah, thank you for saying my post was one of your favourite.

I love baking with Reuben, although it normally ends up with most of the mixture being eaten before it is even baked, he enjoys himself though and then disappears when it comes to cleaning only to reappear when it is time to eat! Typical 3 year old I guess.

Your posts keep making me think that I need to stop using the rain as an excuse to not go out with Reuben. He has wellies. I need to make it my goal to go out and jump in puddles with him!

We did baking for the first time with little Bee the other week. For an 18 month old she didn’t do too bad – although she preferred tasting the mixture to stirring it! And we love having the park all to ourselves – just us and the ducks. #itsthelittlethingslinky
