I’m not a particularly “handy” person, not very domesticated. I can’t change a tyre, I can’t (/won’t?) clean an oven, and I’m not very good at putting on a duvet cover. I can’t hang a picture frame and I’ve been meaning to hem my curtains for three years but haven’t quite figured out my sewing machine works yet. The last time I changed a light bulb I managed to smash the whole thing in my hand, so I was very excited when my dad brought round some new LED light bulbs as replacements.
LED Light Bulbs
A standard incandescent light bulb lasts for around 1,000 hours, but an LED light can last for 11,000, meaning they will need to be changed much less frequently. As well as that they are much more energy efficient, using up to 90% less power than traditional bulbs, reducing your energy bills dramatically as well as being much better for the environment. Due to their increased efficiency they give off very little heat, meaning they are safer, and you can place lighting in an area that would ordinarily be a fire risk. Check out the info-graphic below for even more benefits of LED lighting and find out why we should all make the switch.
Making the switch is simple, and retailers like The Lighting Superstore offer plenty of choice for LED bulbs and ceiling lighting. LED light bulbs can be used in a wide variety of stylish light features making them an ideal choice for those interested in interior design, and even come in a variety of colours and degrees of warmth (measured in Kelvins).
Do you have any LED light bulbs in your home? Will you be making the switch now that you know the benefits of doing so?

I honestly couldn’t justify paying so much money for a lightbulb when incandescent bulbs are cheaper than dirt. But then I decided to buy one and I put it in my bedroom and oh man do I love them now. I’ve put them in my living room and in my bathroom and slowly upgrading the whole house.
