Win: National Wanderer CycleFest with Experience Freedom

One of my aims for this year is to see more and do more, to explore more places and adventure more often. This country is full of such beautiful landscape and such incredible places to visit, and I want to show Dil as much of it as I possibly can. Now that the weather is warming up (a little!) my thoughts are turning to outdoor adventures, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can get up to. To me the summer is all about getting outside, enjoying the sun (or the rain – let’s be realistic), getting covered in mud or sand, staying up late laughing at nothing and creating memories that will last for years. This month I’ve been working with Experience Freedom who specialise in just that.

Experience Freedom offer beautiful accommodation in gorgeous settings all over the country, allowing people to get closer to nature and enjoy some of the most amazing locations in the UK in style and comfort. They offer many different types of accommodation; you can book yourself into one of their camping sites, a cosy glamping pod, a gorgeous yurt (complete with a king size bed) or choose from one of their other options. Experience Freedom is a part of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, which has over 110 years experience in running high quality camp sites as well as overseas holidays, tours, insurance services, days out and great travel advice so you’d be in safe hands.

CycleFest

As well as offering exciting getaways, Experience Freedom is also the brand behind Cyclefest – a series of 3 cycle events taking place during the three Caravan and Motorhome Club’s National events this year. The aim is to get people out on their bikes and having fun, and we are so excited to be attending this year. Each event has plenty to offer the whole family and they all look like really fun days out. The first event is in Kelso, Scotland on 6th May, then the main event at Sledmere House in Yorkshire on 27th May to coincide with the Yorkshire National, and the final CycleFest in Monmouth in Wales on 26th August during the Welsh National. Each location will host three cycle routes – two challenging Sportive routes for experienced cyclists, and a shorter, slightly easier route which is suitable for the whole family.

We will be visiting the event at Sledmere House this year, and I know that Adam is very excited because cycling is something he’s really in to. Myself and Dil are closer to the beginner level of cyclists, but I’m feeling pretty confident that CycleFest will cater for all of our skill levels nicely and it looks like there’s a lot of other fun and family friendly stuff going on throughout the day too.

For families who enjoy cycling, or those who just fancy getting outside and trying something new – CycleFest and the National make a perfect day out. Tickets for CycleFest are £25 per adult and £10 per child (16 and under) for the Sportive routes, or £6.50 per adult and £1 per child for the family route. That also includes entry to the National, where there will be plenty of fun and family friendly activities to get involved in, as well as access to the trade stands, cycling test tracks and bike demos from some of the top cycling brands. For more information and to book your tickets head to Experience Freedom Cycling.

Register your place on any of the CycleFest rides and you’ll be automatically entered into a competition to win a six night holiday to the Loire region of France worth £4000. The prize, courtesy of Belle France, is for two adults and two children and includes; 6 nights half board accommodation, cycle hire, luggage transfers and comprehensive route notes plus the services of a dedicated Bell France Rep.

The National at Sledmere House

The main National event at Sledmere House runs 10am to 11pm Saturday 26th – Monday 28th May, and it’s the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s biggest outdoor event of the year. It’s full of free family fun for kids and grown-ups, fun family shows all day, craft areas, street food and lots of stalls and traders to explore. This year they’ve also introduced Segways in the ‘Have a Go’ area, and a gorgeous Garden Party to celebrate the Royal Wedding. Day tickets are £5 each (under 18s are free), and non-members are very welcome. Find out more at the Caravan Club.
