Moving in to our new little dream home earlier this year was a little tainted for us as a family due to recent events. The plans that we had originally made for where furniture would go was solely based around where the cot would fit, and where breakables would be safe from tiny hands, so once that dream was over it took a while before we gave it all any thought again. Now six months on from moving in I’m really starting to feel like we’ve built a little home, even if it’s not quite the one we originally imagined, and I’m really in love with little corners of nearly every room. We still have a lot of things to get sorted – there’s a long to do list and there are still a few boxes to unpack, but we are definitely getting there.
Between us we have a collection of beautiful things – trinkets and photos that mean something to us, things that make us feel warm and happy every time we walk by them. I really wanted to add some new things to that collection to fill the blank spaces on some of our walls, and I wanted to make sure we picked wisely and only added things that gave us those same lovely feelings when we see them every day. I’ve been lucky enough to be working with Desenio, who have 100s and 100s of gorgeous prints to buy for your home, and I spent many hours scouring their website trying to find the perfect thing. I’m absolutely in love with the prints we chose, and there are still many, many more on my wish list!
Our Desenio Poster Picks
The prints we picked are:
The Nice Butt poster for our kitchen – always raises a smile and offers several valid reminders
The Ghandi poster for the play room – “In a gentle way you can shake the world” something I want Dilan to grow up knowing, and a nice reminder for me on more difficult days
Both of these prints are in Desenio Copper Frames which are beautiful and really add something to the simplicity of the posters.
Gaze 475 – I love this one. Our home is full of images of strong women, because I want to raise children who know the true strength of a female. It has the perfect position next to our bed, alongside our macrame wall hanging and plant holder (from Fringe & Fray). The dream catcher is from our recent holiday to Rhodes.
No Clothes Sketch poster – compliments the Gaze poster beautifully, and is a lovely nod to Adam’s work in a more subtle way. I would love to have some of Adam’s photos around the room too eventually.
And the square Love Your Mother poster – absolutely perfect for Dil’s room which currently has a kind of sky/space/rainbow theme. His room is still very much a work in progress, but I love it already. The sprinkles are wall stickers from Happy Decs, and the Dreams piece is from one of my favourite artists This Lakshmi. The Astronaut Unicorn print is Paper Joy, and the rainbow print is Wonder & Rah, and they all go perfectly together.
I’d like to add Desenio’s Earth Poster and Moon Phase Poster to Dil’s room soon but I’m really happy with how everything is looking so far. Take a look at the pictures below and let me know what you think! Which is your favourite? Got your eye on any other prints from Desenio?
