Interlude in the Close with Norwich Theatre

After a difficult year, our local theatre industry and hospitality sector both need our support more than they ever have before. Now that things are reopening, Norwich Theatre has put together a brilliant summer of shows and it’s really worth checking them out. Interlude in the Close includes something for all ages and interests, from Circus tricks to StrongWomen Science, Dinosaurs to Shakespeare and everything in between. INTERLUDE in the CLOSE, 14 July – 30 August

The Wind in the Willows

Wed 14 July, 7pm

Officially opening INTERLUDE in the CLOSE, The Wind in the Willows is a beautiful and enchanting musical production written by Academy Award winner Julian Fellowes with music by the award-winning Stiles & Drewe, presented by the Turbine Theatre, London. Last seen at the London Palladium in 2018, The Wind in the Willows has been specially adapted for a more intimate outdoor performance and for families and people of all ages.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Thu 22 July, 7.30pm

Following the international success of their hit two-actor Macbeth, Out of Chaos are back to reimagine another Shakespeare masterpiece in their own fast, furious and fantastically funny style! Ages 8+

So You Think You Know About Dinosaurs

Sat 24 July, 11am

This Edinburgh Fringe 5-Star show starring dinosaur aficionado Dr Ben Garrod (David Attenborough’s favorite dinosaur expert!!) comes to Norwich! Get ready to go on an exciting pre-historic adventure as Ben explores the biggest, deadliest and weirdest predators that ever roamed the planet.

Jarred Christmas and Hobbit: The MIGHTY KIDS Beatbox Comedy Show

Sun 1 Aug, 1pm

Calling kids aged 4 to 100, join our MIGHTY gang! A sensational interactive show, where the worlds of comedy and beatboxing collide with electrifying results.  Pick-up beatboxing tips to impress your friends, win prizes and laugh through your pantaloons!

Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday

Tue 10 August. 1.30pm

Join Sarah and Duck and your favourite friends including The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, Flamingo & John and Umbrella, as they plan a birthday party for Scarf Lady. Told through an enchanting blend of puppetry, storytelling and music, Sarah and Duck’s Big Top Birthday will take you and your children on a magical adventure.

StrongWomen Science

Tue 24 August, 2pm

Ever wanted to know how you balance a chair on your chin, if you can juggle liquid, or how circus performers eat fire? StrongWomen Aoife and Maria reveal the scientific secrets behind their astounding tricks. In a fun, lively and fast-paced family circus performance, find out how jugglers, acrobats and hula hoop artists use science to create their amazing acts.

Circus Lates

Tue 24 August, 7.30pm

Back for INTERLUDE 2021, Lost in Translation’s Circus Lates is a unique night of live entertainment that will take you through a journey of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety. This is a show you DON’T want to miss! Ages 16+
