Lockdown Exercise Ideas

*This is a collaborative post*

With the UK in lockdown but exercise allowed, it’s important to ensure that we find the time to get out of our homes where possible and do exercise. There’s some great ways that we can get out of the home and ensure that we keep fit and healthy during the lockdown. I’ve put together a guide of some of the best ways you can exercise over the coming weeks.

Get out on your bike or trike

Bikes and trikes are a great way of covering long distances in a short amount of time. You can go out on your own or take the whole family with you. They help you to stay fit and healthy and also, you never know, you may find areas locally to you that you didn’t even know existed and could become a new favourite place to go. Whether it be a nearby forest trail or a country road, discover more of your local area with your family. It’s also a brilliant way to get the kids outdoors and away from their phones or game consoles! You could even take the dog with you. If you’re on the lookout for a tricycles, there’s a great range of tricycles from Jorvik that will get you out and about in no time.

Go for a run

Running is one of the most popular and effective ways of getting fit, so why not try and set yourself a personal record to beat? Whether it be a Couch to 5KM run or setting yourself a target, running is a great way of achieving something during the lockdown. Set yourself a couple of different routes that vary in difficulty, so find one that gives you confidence and then find one that’s a little more difficult. You can also take your kids out with you on a shorter run as a replacement for P.E classes that they’ll be missing at school.

Online Exercises

Last but not least, if the weather isn’t in your favour then you may need to take a look at online fitness classes by people like Joe Wicks. There are PE classes and also Yoga classes. Whatever it is you’re looking to do or achieve you can find it on YouTube or other streaming sites. Online classes are a great way to stay fit, whether it’s you or your children. You can even do classes together as a bit of family fun at the weekend! Don’t let the weather stop you getting some much needed exercise.

These are some of the best ways you can stay fit during the lockdown period. If you have any more suggestions feel free to get in touch with me or comment below, always happy to hear of any suggestions you have!
