A step-by-step guide to making wedding balloons arches
The first thing you need to do is take the necessary measurements. Measure the width and the height of the area the balloon archway will cover. In order to determine how much fishing wire you are going to need, you must first determine the relation of the width to the height.
- If the archway is going to be as wide as it is tall then all you need to do is multiply the height by half and add the width.
- If the width is going to be wider then you need to add the two measurements together.
- If the height is larger then you need to multiply it by two and add the width.

Once you have cut your fishing line you then need to tie it to an unmovable object. Measure three feet inwards from one end of the line and then tie it. And then do the same thing in three feet inwards from the other end.
Now you need to determine how many balloons you will need. The recommended rule is to have six balloons per every foot. Thus, if your archway is going to be of 10 feet you will require 60 balloons. Fill these up with helium.
Next you need to tie four balloons together in a cluster. Start off with two balloons. Stretch out their necks and tie together in a double not. Do this process with the additional two afterwards.
Now you are ready to start adding wedding balloons to your fishing line. Start approximately one foot from one of the anchored ends. Make sure you wrap a few of the balloons from the cluster around to make it more secure. You need to keep repeating this process until the archway is filled with balloons. Now untie the arch one side at a time from the unmovable object you had it attached to when you were making the arch. Once untied now attach it to the weights you have just made.
